Car Service - What is included?

In order to make it simple and easy for our customers we have designated two types of services.

Interim Service and Full Service.

Interim Service is recommended every 6 months or 6000 miles

Service Preparation & Road Test

  1. Check for body damage.
  2. Check wheels and trims for damage.
  3. Check operation of brakes for judder/pulling and noise.
  4. Check steering controls and column for wear/movement.

Engine

  1. Drain engine oil and refill (special or synthetic oils subject to additional charge).
  2. Replace oil filter.
  3. Replace sump plug seal or report sump plug replacement if integral.
  4. Check for general oil leaks.
  5. Check for timing belt replacement interval & report if due according to mileage or age.
  6. Report if spark plugs are due to be changed according to mileage. An additional charge applies for the supply of plugs and fitment.
  7. Check and record antifreeze strength and minimum temperature and top up coolant as required.
  8. Check & report condition and security of undertray

Fuel

  1. Check fuel filter replacement interval and report if due.

Drive System

  1. Check for correct clutch operation.
  2. Check for correct gearbox operation.
  3. Check and top up clutch fluid where applicable.
  4. Check drive shaft gaitors for security and report leaks.

Electrical

  1. Check operation of exterior lights.
  2. Check horn.

Steering & Suspension

  1. Check and top up power steering reservoir where applicable.
  2. Check steering and suspension components for wear and corrosion.
  3. Check steering rack gaiters condition.
  4. Check wheel bearings for excessive play or roughness.
  5. Carry out shock absorber bounce test.

Exhaust

  1. Inspect exhaust system (including catalyst if fitted) for leaks, security and noise.
  2. Visual check for exhaust smoke.

Brakes

  1. Check brake pads for wear or damage.
  2. Check brake callipers for leaks and security.
  3. Check service brake shoes for wear or damage – clean and adjust if required (excludes internal handbrake shoes).
  4. Inspect operation of wheel cylinders and report any leaks.
  5. Visually check brake hydraulic system, pipes and hoses for any leaks, chafing and corrosion.
  6. Check security of handbrake linkages and travel. Lubricate and adjust if required.
  7. Check brake discs and drums for wear, cracks, corrosion and scoring or pitting (excluding internal drums).
  8. Check brake fluid level and top up if required.

 Tyres and Wheels

  1. Remove road wheels.
  2. Check tyre size and whether tyre is fitted to side wall instructions.
  3. Check tyre condition and tread depth (including spare).
  4. Check and adjust tyre pressures (including spare).
  5. Set wheel nut torque to manufacturer’s settings.
  6. Check wheels for correct balance (including spare).

Vision

  1. Check windscreen wiper condition and operation.
  2. Check rear wiper condition and operation (if fitted).
  3. Check windscreen washer operations, align jets and top up if required.
  4. Top up windscreen washer bottle(s)

Internal

  1. Advise if cabin filter is required according to age/mileage recommendations and last change.
  2. Check dash warning lights

General              

  1. Reset vehicle service light where applicable (subject to data and tooling availability).
  2. Stamp service book.

Hybrid Checks

  1. Connect diagnostic for hybrid health check (report live data)
  2. Check condition of charging port and charging cable
  3. Visually check high voltage cables and connections for damage
  4. Report if inverter coolant is due
  5. Rotate road wheels to check for brake binding

Full Service is recommended every 12 months or 12,000 miles

Service Preparation & Road Test

  1. Check for body damage.

  10. Check coolant hoses for leaks and condition, and security check securing clips for tightness and report.
  11. Check electric cooling fan for operation where applicable.
  12. Check condition and tension of fan or alternator belt. Adjust or report on condition.
  13. Check condition and adjust auxiliary drive belts if required (excluding timing or cambelt).

Fuel

  1. Check fuel filter replacement interval and report if due.
  2. Check fuel cap seal condition.
  3. Check visual condition of fuel lines.

Drive System

  1. Check for correct clutch operation.
  2. Check for correct gearbox operation.
  3. Check and top up clutch fluid where applicable.
  4. Check drive shaft gaitors for security and report leaks.
  5. Grease prop/shaft if applicable.
  6. Check and top up axle and/or transaxle oil if applicable.
  7. Top up gearbox fluid where applicable and not sealed.

Electrical

  1. Check operation of exterior lights.
  2. Check horn.
  3. Check diesel heater plug indicator operation where fitted.
  4. Check battery security and lubricate terminals.
  5. Top up battery/non-sealed units only.
  6. Visual inspection of HT (high tension) leads.
  7. Test alternator charging rate – check security.

Steering & Suspension

  1. Check and top up power steering reservoir where applicable.
  2. Check steering and suspension components for wear and corrosion.
  3. Check steering rack gaiters condition.
  4. Check wheel bearings for excessive play or roughness.
  5. Carry out shock absorber bounce test.
  6. Grease steering and suspension where applicable.

  2. Visual check for exhaust smoke.

  3. Check tyre condition and tread depth (including spare).
  4. Check and adjust tyre pressures (including spare).
  5. Set wheel nut torque to manufacturer’s settings.
  6. Check wheels for correct balance (including spare).

Vision

  1. Check windscreen wiper condition and operation.
  2. Check rear wiper condition and operation (if fitted).
  3. Check windscreen washer operations, align jets and top up if required.
  4. Top up windscreen washer bottle(s)
  5. Check windscreen for chips and cracks.
  6. Check mirror condition (interior and exterior).
  7. Check number plate condition.

Internal

  1. Advise if cabin filter is required according to age/mileage recommendations and last change.
  2. Check dash warning lights
  3. Remove cabin, clean out housing and renew cabin filter.
  4. Check seatbelts – front and rear including lap belt.
  5. Check operation of all external door locks.
  6. Lubricate accessible door hinges (with white grease).

General              

  1. Reset vehicle service light where applicable (subject to data and tooling availability).
  2. Stamp service book.
  3. Lubricate bonnet catch.

 

Hybrid Checks

  1. Connect diagnostic for hybrid health check (report live data)
  2. Check condition of charging port and charging cable
